What the code means

Bosch's US dryer error code guide groups E24 with E06, E08, E09, E25, E28, E36 and E90 under one heading: there is an electronic fault, and it can only be fixed by an authorized technician. Bosch's Middle East (Qatar) support page for E24 says the same: a fault with the electronics that only an experienced engineer can eliminate. What the electronics fault is depends on the dryer. A German service technician fault table for Bosch heat pump dryers lists E24 as a compressor/inverter communication error: the DBUS link to the inverter is broken, the inverter isn't switched on, or the inverter is defective. German parts retailer ersatzteilshop.de also lists the heat pump compressor and the compressor's inverter electronics as the parts involved. For older US WTMC/WTXD dryers, the technician reference MyPros+ quotes the Bosch training manual as saying E:24 means the software version doesn't match its table, and the dryer stops and can't be restarted. Either way it's a board-level fault, not something a lint or vent cleaning will fix.   2. Power reset: unplug the dryer or switch off its breaker for at least 5 minutes, then power it back on and try a short program.
  3. If the dryer had a board replaced recently, tell the technician who did it, since a software mismatch can show up as E24 on some models.
  4. If E24 returns, stop there. The inverter and control boards carry line voltage, and Bosch says this code needs a technician.
