Beko Dishwasher E02 Error Code: No Water Coming In (Water Cut-Off or Blocked Inlet Filter)
What the code means
Beko's US user manual for the DIT38532 (section 6.11, Water cut-off (E:02) warning) says that if mains water is cut or the water inlet tap is turned off, the machine cannot take water in and the E:02 icon flashes on the program indicator. While the problem continues the program is paused and the dishwasher checks the water inlet regularly; when the water is restored the E:02 icon disappears after a while and the program resumes. The DIN59420 manual says the same. Beko's newer European manuals (BDIN16440, BDFN26451, BDFN26442) list E02 in their error code table as a water outage error with the cause "filter is blocked", shown on those models as a blinking P2 warning with the water outage icon and washing LED lit. Their fix is to cut the power, close the water tap, remove the water inlet hose, check and clean the filter, then reconnect the water and power, and if the error continues, contact authorised service. E02 is different from E01, which Beko uses for the overflow or water-in-the-base warning (see the Beko E01 page), and from E07, which those manuals list as a faulty flowmeter. Beko notes the error codes can vary by model, so check the table in your own manual.
Likely causes
- Water tap to the dishwasher turned off, only partly open, or mains water cut off to the house
- Inlet hose filter (the small mesh screen where the hose connects) clogged with sand, rust or scale
- Inlet hose kinked, crushed behind the cabinet, or pinched when the dishwasher was pushed in
- Water pressure too low; Beko's manuals call for at least 0.3 bar (about 4.4 psi) at the tap
- If water is on and the filter is clean: an inlet valve, flowmeter or control fault that needs service
Safe DIY checks
Unplug the appliance (or switch off its breaker) and shut off the water supply valves before removing panels or disconnecting hoses. Keep towels handy for residual water.
- Check the water supply first: make sure the tap or valve under the sink is fully open and that other taps in the house have normal pressure. On models with the water cut-off warning, the program resumes on its own once water comes back.
- Pull the dishwasher out a little if you can and check the inlet hose for kinks or crushing along its full length.
- Switch off the dishwasher at the wall and turn off the water tap.
- Unscrew the inlet hose from the tap (have a towel ready), remove the filter from the hose end, and rinse it clean under running water. Refit the filter, then reconnect the hose firmly.
- Open the tap fully, check for leaks at the connection, switch the power back on and restart the program.
- If you've just installed the dishwasher, use the new inlet hose supplied with it, connected directly to the tap with no splices, as Beko's manuals require.
๐ When to call a pro
- E02 keeps coming back even though the tap is fully open, the hose is straight and the inlet filter is clean: Beko says to switch the dishwasher off and contact an authorised service.
- You hear the dishwasher trying to fill but no water enters, which can point to a failed inlet valve.
- The display shows E07 (faulty flowmeter) or E01 (overflow or water in the base) instead; Beko treats those as separate faults.
Parts that commonly fix it
Always match the part number to your exact model.
Dishwasher water inlet hose
For a kinked, split or damaged supply hose. Beko says not to reuse an old hose on a new machine.
