Brake system warning light: what it means and what to do
What it means
- Mazda: if the light stays on with the parking brake released, brake fluid may be low or there's a brake system problem. Driving with it on is dangerous, because the brakes may not work or could fail.
- If both the brake and ABS lights are on, Mazda says to have the car towed.
What to do
- Make sure the parking brake is fully released.
- If the light stays on, park safely and get the brakes inspected right away. Tow if needed.
