Beko Washing Machine Error Code E7 (E07): Water Level Sensor Fault

What the code means

Beko doesn't publish one error list for every washer it makes, and its codes differ between platforms, so check your own manual's table first. Some newer Beko machines, such as the BMM5DFO5741W washer-dryer, only list E02, E03, U4, H and a general EXX code in their manual, so E07 there isn't covered and you should contact Beko. On Beko's digital-display washing machines, UK Whitegoods' Beko WMA fault table, which it says is written for repairers from information Beko gave it, lists E7 as Level sensor error. It says the complaint is usually that the machine empties every time it's started or the programme simply doesn't start, and the checks are the wiring to the level sensor and the level sensor itself. The UK spares supplier eSpares gives the same symptoms for E7/E07 and says it can be caused by a faulty pressure switch or an obstruction in the pressure hose (the thin tube that runs from the bottom of the tub up to the sensor). How-To-Repair, a UK repair guide covering Beko's WTK range (WTK72011, WTK74011, WTK82011, WTK84011 and similar), says these machines use a 5 V electronic level sensor that reports the water level as a frequency, and that E07 is fixed by checking the plug at the sensor and at the control board's KN2 socket, then replacing the sensor if the connections are good. eSpares lists E13 on some Beko models with the same symptoms and the same pressure switch checks.

Likely causes

Safe DIY checks

โš  Before you start

Unplug the appliance (or switch off its breaker) and shut off the water supply valves before removing panels or disconnecting hoses. Keep towels handy for residual water.

  1. Switch the machine off at the wall and unplug it for a few minutes, then plug it back in and try a short programme. A one-off glitch can clear this way; if E7 comes straight back, carry on.
  2. Make sure the drum isn't sitting full of water. If it is, drain it through the pump filter flap at the bottom front (towels and a shallow tray ready) before moving the machine.
  3. If you're comfortable working on appliances: unplug the machine, pull it out and remove the two Torx T20 screws at the back of the top panel, then slide the lid off. eSpares shows the pressure switch on the left-hand side as you stand at the back.
  4. Check the sensor's plug is pushed fully home and the wires aren't damaged. Lift the tab and pull the plug off, then push the switch out of its mounting and pull the thin pressure hose off it.
  5. Blow gently into the pressure hose. eSpares says if you feel resistance and can't hear bubbling from the water in the tub, the hose is blocked and should be cleared or replaced. If air goes through freely and you hear bubbling, the hose is fine and the pressure switch is the likely fault.
  6. Fit the new pressure switch (ordered by your exact model number): push the hose on, clip the switch back into its mounting, reconnect the plug, refit the lid and its two T20 screws, then run a short programme.

๐Ÿ›  When to call a pro

  • E7 stays after you've cleared the hose and fitted a new sensor: a technician checks the wiring back to the control board and then the board itself.
  • You don't want to take the lid off or handle electrical connectors: book a repair, as all the remaining checks are inside the machine.
  • The machine is under Beko's guarantee: use Beko's own repair service rather than opening it, so you don't affect cover.
  • Water keeps filling or leaking onto the floor: turn off the tap, unplug the machine and leave it for an engineer.
