Bosch Washer E29 (F29, E00-29) Error Code: Not Enough Water Coming In (Meaning, Causes, Fixes)

What the code means

Bosch France titles its E29 / F29 help page "check the water tap and clean the inlet filters," and lists two causes: the water pressure is too low, or the filters in the water connection of the inlet hose or AquaStop are clogged. Bosch US groups F29 with E17 and F17 under the same message: the filters in the water connection or AquaStop hose are blocked or the water pressure is too low. Bosch Singapore uses the same grouping. On washers with a three-digit display Bosch lists the code as E29 / F29 / E00-29. Because Bosch treats F29 the same way as E17, the steps below match our Bosch E17 page. Code lists differ between model families, so check your own owner's manual too.

Safe DIY checks

โš  Before you start

Unplug the appliance (or switch off its breaker) and shut off the water supply valves before removing panels or disconnecting hoses. Keep towels handy for residual water.

  1. Turn the washer off and unplug it.
  2. Make sure the water tap is fully open and the inlet hose behind the washer isn't kinked or squashed.
  3. Turn the tap off and unscrew the inlet hose from the tap.
  4. Clean the filter in the hose connection with a small brush under running water. If you have an AquaStop hose, don't put it in water: Bosch warns it contains an electric valve.
  5. On models without AquaStop, also remove the hose from the back of the washer, pull out the filter there with pliers and clean it.
  6. Check the pressure: hold a bucket under the tap and open it fully. About 10 liters (2.5 gallons) should come out in one minute. If it's much less, call a plumber, since Bosch says low pressure is a plumbing issue.
  7. Reconnect the hose, open the tap fully, check for leaks, plug in and restart the program.

๐Ÿ›  When to call a pro

  • E29 keeps coming back even though the tap is fully open, the filters are clean and you measured about 10 liters per minute. Bosch France says to schedule a Bosch technician.
  • Your home's water flow is well under 10 liters per minute at the tap, which Bosch says needs a plumber.
  • The AquaStop hose is damaged or leaking at the tap end.
  • The washer is under warranty. Bosch Customer Support in the US is at 1-800-944-2904.
