Samsung Oven C-F2 Error Code: Touch Panel Communication Error (Meaning, Causes, Fixes)
What the code means
Samsung's oven information-code page (UK and New Zealand versions) says C-F2 "occurs when a communication problem is maintained between the Touch IC and Main or Sub micom", meaning the touch-panel chip and the oven's main or sub control board. Samsung's NV51CB700D wall-oven service manual words it the same way: C-F2 occurs if communication between the Main and Touch PCB is interrupted. You may notice the touch keys not responding or responding in the wrong place. It's a different code from C-F0, which Samsung uses for a lost link between the main and sub boards, and from C-d0, which means shorted keys. Samsung India's page lists C-F2 more simply as a touch key malfunction. Samsung notes codes can vary by model, so check your manual if your oven's display doesn't match.
Likely causes
- A temporary electronics glitch, which Samsung says a restart or power reset often clears
- A loose or poorly seated ribbon cable between the touch panel and the sub control board (the first check in Samsung's service manual)
- A damaged ribbon cable or wire harness; Samsung's service manual says to repair or replace damaged wiring
- A failed touch panel (touch IC)
- A faulty sub or main control board that can no longer communicate with the touch panel
Safe DIY checks
Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before opening panels.
- Turn the oven off with its Power or Off key, wait a moment, and turn it back on. Samsung lists this as the first step for C-F2.
- If C-F2 comes back, switch off the oven's circuit breaker (or unplug the range) for at least 30 seconds, then restore power. Samsung's US range error-code page uses the same breaker reset for codes without a specific fix.
- Make sure the oven isn't on a shared or overloaded circuit and isn't plugged in through an extension cord.
- If the code persists after the power reset, note the full model number (on the label inside the door frame or storage drawer) and request service from Samsung. Checking the ribbon cable means removing the control panel with the power off at the breaker, so leave that to a technician unless you're comfortable working on 240 V appliances.
🛠 When to call a pro
- C-F2 returns after a 30-second power reset. Samsung says to contact its service center if a code keeps appearing.
- The touch keys are dead, stuck, or responding in the wrong spot, so you can't turn the oven off normally (switch the breaker off).
- You see burn marks, a melted connector, or a damaged ribbon cable behind the control panel.
- The oven is under warranty. Opening the control panel yourself may affect coverage, so book through Samsung support with the model and serial number ready.
Parts that commonly fix it
Always match the part number to your exact model.
Touch panel ribbon cable or wire harness
Samsung's service manual's first C-F2 check is whether the touch panel ribbon cable is seated in the sub board connector. Replace it only if it's damaged, matching the exact model number.

Only after the cable checks out. Touch panels are model-specific.

Only after the touch panel and cable are ruled out. Boards are expensive and usually not returnable once installed.
